The hot water deck is a feature found on crossflow cooling towers. Water flows from the distribution system across the hot water deck and down into the cooling tower fill.
Common materials are pressure treated plywood or FRP. Hot water decks may be covered to reduce contamination from sources such as trees as well as limit algae growth.
